In Celtic mythology they’re seals who shed their coats and walk on land as humans. Selkies represent transformation, resilience and being true to yourself, never shedding any essential part of who they are 🧍‍♀️✨🦭

Selkie folklore often revolves around female selkies being trapped into marriage by human men, who steal their seal skins, making it impossible for them to return to the sea. I prefer to imagine their truest nature, which is a woman who is capable of powerful transformation. Like all women, there are different sides to who she is and she welcomes change and adventure
