Selkie Spirit Talisman Rosa

In Scottish and Irish mythology, selkies are seal folk who have the power to transform from seal to human form by shedding their skin.

Selkie folklore often revolves around female selkies being trapped into marriage by human men, who steal their seal skins, making it impossible for them to return to the sea.

I prefer to imagine their truest nature, which is a woman who is capable of powerful transformation. Like all women, there are different sides to who she is and she chooses to love all facets of herself

Each talisman is hand-carved from basswood. Finished with water-based paints and sealed with wood finish
